your life's soundtrack

i'm sure you've heard about the quote about music being everywhere. that it is everywhere we go. m sure its true for those hearing sounds in their heads. but for them normal people, they only hear their brains working. and m sure we hear them all around us. a tindera singing 'lab mooove, en mesterius wees...', the sekyu inspecting our stuff 'des is da pers taym m gonna say i lab u..'. it very well may define the events in our life. we hear a song and gets reminded of one particular event in our life (lalo na yung mga senti dyan, naku yari na..). so here are some stages/events in my life and the song that defined them, or vice-versa.

Song: How gee by Black Machine
Remember this? Not really much of a song. But it reminds me so much of my grade 5 or 6, m not sure though. Pero nakakainis!
Song: Will i survive by Introvoys
Unmistakably Jonathan Buencamino. I remember this song because i had chicken pox when this ruled the airwaves (97.1 triggerman!). Pucha 3 months ata to number 1 sa countdown nila e. Having nothing else to do at home, i have to bear with this every noon.
Song: Any beatles, RJ, beegees, etc. song
Every sunday when were kids, we would wake up to these tunes... Kainis, sira kagad araw mo..
Song: That close-up song by Gino Padilla
Eto pa isa!!! Pero i have to admit, my brother and i liked this song (for about 1 day lang).
Song: Chicken song ba yun?
This was way back when were kids pa talaga. 'Kuya, bat ba nagpapatugtog pa ng ganitong kanta? Ampanget e.' 'Malamang may nag-rerequest pa..'
Song: Theme song of The Bodyguard by Whitney Houston
We had these valentine thingy in school where you could request for any song and dedicate to someone special. Do i need to say more?
Song: On Bended Knees by Boys to Men
Another one of those songs destroyed by mainstream radio stations.
Song: Jump by Kris Kross
I havent met anyone who didnt know this song. Remember Cross Colours? Baggy pants, long back shirts 3x larger your size.
Song: Bring dat Booty by Masta Plann
First local rap group na astig. But i liked Fix da world up better. 'susie got pregnant by joe the baby-maker. joe said see ya, would'nt wanna be ya..' stig!
Song: 214 by Rivermaya
Sounds foreign. I still like this song up to now. Classic lalo na sa mga videoke and inuman-guitara session (runner-up dito yung sa IAXE, 'Akoy sayo' ek-ek)
Song: Cruisin by Gwyneth and some old dude
Another victim of mainstream radio stations. 2nd year college days..
Song: Smooth by Rob Thomas and Santana
One thing comes to mind with this song: Summer Class! I remember the days when we all would hitch a ride with Fort going home after our summer class. All 6 or 7 of us in one corolla (war car) ala school bus. Then this song would often be played on our way home (la cd player e). Those were the days...
Song: She Bangs by Ricky Martin
Ask Fort about this song... with matching bang-bang motion pa! hehehe
Song: Happy by Squareheads / Take your time by The Love Bite
S-Days! Fort, Jayvee and me. S1-S3. Di mo gets noh? Again, those were the days..
Song: Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice
'Ice ice baby... cruisin on my 4-point-Oh (4.0).. word to ya mother..!'
Song: Boom the Bass album
Remember the days when 'bayo' was in. We'd play this cassette tape in our car to make 'pa-bayo' of our 300w 6x9 speakers (la subs e.. basag tuloy kagad)
Song: Secret Garden by Bruce Springsteen
Astig, lalo na with the dialogue. Cute ni Dorothy Boyd.
Song: Hey ya by Outkast
'Dude, eto yung sinayaw ni Rainier sa Starstruck.' 'Hindi noh, buong Starstruck kaya sumayaw nito.' Debating on the way to Pagudpud. Take note, debating while singing along with matching clapping pa.
Song: This Love by Maroon 5
'This love has taken its toll on me, she said goodbye too many times...' Again, on the way to Pagudpud.
Song: Stigmatized & Could this be any harder by The Calling
Their first album was sooo worth it. Of course mine was given only! hehehe
Song: Megalomaniac by Incubus
I used to play this everyday on my way to work As in full volume pa talaga to wake me myself up!
Song: Love Moves in Mysterious Ways by Nina
Hehehehe!
Song: I dont want to be your friend by Nina
Remember this song, Jayvee? Coz I do! Hehehe
Song: Somewhere in Between by Lifehouse
'Would you catch me if I fall out of what I fell in. Dont be surprised if I collapse down at your feet again. I don't want to run away from this. I know that I just don't need this.' Asteeg..
Song: Everything by Lifehouse
'How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you? Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?' Asteeg uli..
Song: Jeepney by Sponge Cola
Wala lang. I like this song bakit ba? Eto naman play ko everyday when going to work.
Song: I don't want to be by Gavin deGraw
One tree hill... I listen to this din pala everyday. hehehe

the week that was

another day, another dollar or better yet another peso.. not! weekends nowadays seems too fast. i was just beginning to enjoy the weekend and before i knew it, its monday already.

anyway, i've been too busy over the past weeks. believe it or not, i've been busy with work! and if u'll notice, i added a tag board and hits counter. and after 1 week, i got a whopping 41 hits already! and those include my visits which accounts for about half of the total hits! hahaha.

and only recently, i have been receiving some not-so-wholesome emails (i actually have 2 sources of these emails, who i wont mention na. u know who u are! hehe. do i look bastos that they make it a point to include me as a recipient? hehehe). aside from the frequent spams i usually get (if i don't receive an email about discounted cialis or any other sex drugs or links to college girls webcam, something must be wrong with my account..), i received some emails about sexual escapades about some old dude or a young teenage boy. their theme are somehow similar prompting me to think that they have the same author (someone with a wild imagination is lurking out there somewhere waiting for his next inspiration..). im not saying that m a bit disturbed, cause i have to admit, i took the time to read em all! freakin crazy.. entertaining. three thumbs up, if you know what i mean! hahaha. hala, i've been reading too much na ata (for those who want copies, post a message on my tag board! hehehe). them stories should be sent to those low-budget producers who comes up with box-office hits such as 'Umaga na ng hinugot' or 'Nang kinagat nya ang pinya sa may paraisong tatsulok kung saan wag ka kikibo at ako hihipo part 1' kinda movies. i wont be surprised if carlo and tita malou become household names!

and speaking of work, we got our performance not-so-much bonus already. i got a measly ____ only. my officemates knows this, ask them nalang how much. hehehe. i was so dissapointed that i spent it all and bought my car new bumpers (to start my USDM conversion, para medyo pimpin naman dba?)! kainis, so i rewarded myself with this. i told myself, "all my efforts and only this to show for it?? sige, to show my dismay and frustration, i'll get rid of you bonus money-thingy! i'll use you to buy something. hahaha! (evil laugh) we'll see..". actually, the amount i received was so small, i had to add a few hundreds to buy the damn bumpers! abonado pa ko.. bwiset..

and to recap the week/day/whenever i feel like blogging, i'll be coming up with the ff thingy of the week and their significance for the week/day that passed. and for this week:

movies of the week:
'Top Gun'* - saw it for the first time. 1986 pa and i only saw it recently. 80's movie! thanks to the lack of gimik, memorize ko na mga HBO movies!

'Go' - starred katie holmes. i thought it was a serious movie at first, di rin pala. ka-aliw. thanks to star movies and the lack of gimik (due to bad weather)! hehehe.

*i should have a quota for 80's movie seen for the month. hmmmm.

quote of the week:
'????' - emailed to me by my boss when she was following-up something. hehehe

cd of the week:
'American Idol Season 4. The Showstoppers' - i have na. copied nga lang! no to piracy... hehehe. pero they could have chosen better songs to include. sayang.

tambay of the week:
'the taong grasa sleeping near the bpi ATM' - for scaring all the people withdrawing and making them forget their transaction slips, the honor goes to him.

vendor of the week:
'mangtataho near SM' - for selling taho at 10 in the evening. di kaya panis na yan manong?

song of the week:
'follow the leader' - 'follow the leader leader leader.. follow the leader leader..'. kainis.
